Test Details:

SAP, the leading multination enterprise software corporation, conducted this interesting image study test in-house, for their site.

Background:

The testing team was looking to understand the impact a video thumbnail image would have on video engagement (clicks, plays, and views). They were also curious whether the thumbnail image alone affected how long viewers would watch the video.

Hypothesis:

Since the audience was coming to SAP’s site looking for business software, it was speculated a business-like background would resonate best, resulting in more people clicking and watching the video.

However, it was also considered that the image might not matter much. So, the team decided put their question to test.
