Paradox of Choice

A psychological effect in which reducing consumer choices can decrease shopping anxiety, helping prompt conversions.

The idea is a large selection overwhelms shoppers to the point they're not able to decide — so make no decision at all -- and don't convert.

In contrast, less choice reduces purchase anxiety, making the decision to buy easier.
