Test Details:

RedEye Optimisation is a progressive customer experience optimisation agency.

They conducted this smart search box test for their client, Super Break, a UK-based short trip travel site.

The test goal was to determine the most effective search box formation to increase bookings, and ultimately revenue, for the travel site.


Background:

With the search box a prominent above-the-fold feature on Super Break’s site, the testing team wondered if the formatting could be optimized to increase engagement.

The team speculated that having multiple search fields, displayed horizontally, may be making the search box appear long and look intimidating to use.
